Hi Folks:
We have begun working with Jas to help her
in transition from being a working athlete to becoming a family pet. Stay turned
and we'll give you guys a reports as she progresses thought her transition.
I want to take the opportunity to acknowledge and
thank the volunteers at Greyt Expectations on behalf of Jasmeen. Thanks to their skill, knowledge of
greyhounds and quick reactions in all probability saved Jasmeen’s life.
Jas has had a rough start on her journey to
becoming a pet. At some point before or
during her trip to Maryland
from the track Jas began to hemorrhage internally from her recent spay. When
she arrived at Greyhound Central the volunteers at Greyt Expectations took immediate
medical action that all likelihood saved Jas.
Volunteers recognized her needs and moved quickly getting her to the vet’s
office. Throughout the medical process
GEGR volunteers stayed with Jas cuddling, holding and encouraging her as the
medical staff began their evaluations.
She was treated for significant dehydration and exhaustion due to the
low blood count and transported to her foster home where she could convalesce. The organization and volunteers were kept up
to date some times hourly as we began to see some improvement in Jas. Jas has responded quickly due to Cindy’s watchful
eye her use of a high protean, high Carb diet, antibiotics and lots of TLC. Cindy and Dr Mel will continue evaluate her
labs and respond appropriately as need.
Thank You GEGR this truly is your save. She deserves her shot at a home and a real life.
I can’t wait to see how this pup turns out. She is already showing signs of having quite
the personality.
